Boknafjellet – The Alternative to the Alternative to Pulpit Rock and Trolltunga
2 weeks ago, my boyfriend Simon and I went on a little autumn break to the nearby region of Haugalandet here in South-Western Norway. We rented a little cabin (with a super scenic view!), explored the nearby island of Karmøy and the town of Haugesund, and spent a lot of time reading and just doing nothing. While a vacation in Norway isn’t complete without at least one hike, we also planned to hike a mountain. Originally, the plan was to hike to Himakånå – the easier and (as of yet) lesser-known alternative to Pulpit Rock and Trolltunga. As it was super windy and the thought of going anywhere near the edge of a cliff in strong winds totally freaked me out, we decided to abort the plan and follow the locals’ recommendation of hiking up Boknafjellet instead. And boy, am I glad we did!
