Bavaria may be one of Germany’s best known states to tourists but even it has its little secret spots. The small but picturesque town of Kallmunz has to be one of them. It was only thanks to Regensburg locals that I even heard of this pretty Bavarian town, let alone visited it. We actually visited a few places around Regensburg but for me Kallmünz was the most memorable. Hopefully you’ll soon see why.
There’s an expectation that the best places to visit in Bavaria are going to enthral you with their old-fashioned character. That’s definitely something that you’ll find when visiting Kallmunz. Despite it’s size, it perfectly balances an interesting medieval town centre with a dynamic surrounding landscape. There’s a reason I took loads of photos here relative to the other places we stopped.
